The report was compiled by a Working Group based as the UCD School of Archaeology which comprised Gabriel Cooney, Muiris O'Sullivan and Liam Downey. This Foresight Study was undertaken in response to the largescale changes which have occurred within the archaeological profession over the last 15 to 20 years. The study began in 2004 and has been completed by the publication of this report. The purposes of the Foresight Report are:- to present an assessment of the prospects for Irish archaeology to 2020
