IAI News
IAI News is the newsletter of the Institute of Archaeologists of Ireland and will be published bi-annually as an e-document, downloadable from this website and circulated by email to all IAI members.
The precursor to IAI, the Irish Association of Professional Archaeologists (IAPA) published a bi-annual newsletter, IAPA News, from 1985-2001. This newsletter, retitled IAI News became the newsletter of the institute at its foundation in 2001. This first series of IAI News was short-lived as , in 2003, the decision was made to publish IAI News as an appendix to our journal, JIA. Having reviewed this arrangement the Board has decided that from 2009 onwards IAI News should be revived as an independent newsletter and e-publication.

Contributions for the next issue
Contributions are invited for the next issue of IAI news, deadline for submissions will be advised shortly.
Articles should be short (500-1,000 words), topical and relevant to Irish archaeology (including recent discoveries, research programmes or issues of archaeological practice) with a maximum of four small or two large illustrations. Submissions should be in a suitable digital format - MS Word compatible for text, JPEG, PNG or TIF for graphics.
Please contact the editors in advance (developmentofficer@iai.ie) prior to any formal submission.
The IAI reserve the right not to publish any particular item submitted.
