Help Gazan Students to Complete their University Degrees

The IAI would like to draw attention to an important campaign to help 12 History and Archaeology students at the Islamic University of Gaza to complete their university degrees. Despite the war causing lack of electricity, limited internet access and the constant pressures of displacement, food insecurity, and lack of basic necessities, these students are persevering in their education. They unfortunately still need to pay university fees, as the universities still need to charge tuition.

This campaign seeks to help these students pay for their tuition so they can graduate. Together, they owe 9,078 Jordanian Dinars (approximately £9,630 GBP / $12,790 USD) in unpaid tuition.

The IAI has previously condemned all violations of international law by all parties involved in this conflict and called for an immediate ceasefire and for the safeguarding of irreplaceable cultural heritage. These students will be crucial in rebuilding their communities and safeguarding what remains of Gaza’s cultural heritage.
