CPD on UAV Survey in Archaeology: An Introduction

19 May @ 10:00 - 13:30

This half-day CPD aims to provide participants with an introduction to the ever-growing use of drone technology within the archaeological profession. Drone (or UAV / UAS / RPAS) survey is a fast-developing field and the potential for its use in archaeological research and heritage management is undergoing rapid development. The first two sessions will provide an overview of the legal and practical requirements for undertaking UAV survey in Ireland in addition to an outline of its overall application in archaeological research. The final two sessions will introduce participants to further specialised applications such as lidar and thermal imaging.
